The supply chain and procurement space is evolving and so to is the role of the procurement professional.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and Supply Management have collaborated to create the annual Procurement Power List. Ahead of the release of The Procurement Power List 2019 which is set to be announced in June, we take a look at The Procurement Power List 2018.

The list was created to recognise and highlight the procurement leaders who are “pushing procurement and supply chain strategy forward, making a positive contribution to the reputation of the professional, via the value of their own organisations and the work they do to raise the profile of the profession more widely.”

The Procurement Power List is compiled by CIPS and Supply Management, in partnership with a panel of leading executive search agencies and industry experts. The two companies asked for nominations from a panel of experts and created a list of 30 names, plus 10 ones to watch.

CIPS and Supply Management used criteria including: employment status, geography, internal and external influence, influencing the wider profession, developing others in the function, depth and breadth of experience. The result is a list of thirty procurement leaders, unranked, who are pushing the field of procurement, with a further ten to watch. The relationship of the people featured and that of CIPS bears no influence on their inclusion, nor can a professional with an official connection to CIPS be included
