Exclusive video: SAP's Alam on power of Spend Control Tower
Procurement Magazine reports from day 2 of SAP Spend Connect, in Vienna, Austria.
This included demonstrations on SAP Concur and how the SAP Business Network is expanding to cover more areas of business spend management.
Procurement Editor Neil Perry grabbed a few moments with Mohammed Alam, President & Chief Product Officer for SAP Intelligence Spend and Business Network, who spoke about the company's Spend Control Tower functionality, which includes advanced AI features and the ability to see across all spend areas to help customers uncover cost-saving opportunities and find process improvements. The new capabilities will be available starting in the first quarter of 2024.
New dashboards in SAP Ariba Sourcing and SAP Ariba Buying solutions also give customers near real-time information within key process workflows, making it easier for procurement professionals to help make informed decisions.
Alam said: "Control Tower allows customers to bring together data across everything from travel and expenses to indirect and direct spends and apply AI to it. This gives out-of-the-box dashboards that offer critical insight.
"Customers can then act upon this, either from the Control Tower or in the contextual apps that feed the data. It gives them a full view of what's happening, which we think is pretty phenomenal."
