Without a doubt we are in the middle of a major hype cycle around Blockchain and the potential transformational impact it will have on the Supply Chain.

However the key issue as with all new technologies is not how they work but how do we communicate the business benefits and potential ROI to a non technical senior level audience. It is encouraging the see all the trials and research consortiums being announced but if we are to move beyond the hype we need to see more implementations and case studies now. The challenge is not Blockchain but Communication.

The ‘Blockchain the Supply Chain’ program will address the information requirements of the supply chain in regards to Blockchain-Distributed Ledger and how the technology can be deployed to enhance and future proof supply chain processes.

All key applications and platforms will be covered in the project and we will be including input from both the regulatory and commercial bodies to ensure that the supply chain has all the relevant information it requires when evaluating the applications and potential ROI of Blockchain.
